HonorBound at Arizona StandDown

HonorBound at Arizona StandDown

HonorBound Foundation attended the Arizona StandDown event Jan. 24-25 at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.

More than 1,300 veterans and members of their families came for assistance on the first day alone, and HonorBound was shocked to learn that many of them had been standing outside in the cold all night. In all, nearly 2,000 veterans made their way to the event to seek help.

The StandDown offered a wide variety of services for veterans, ranging from benefit assistance and homeless services to mental health counseling, college information, and even haircuts. Dozens of local and national organizations participated, strengthening the support network for veterans here in Arizona.

HonorBound was honored to have been a part of such an inspiring event. But one thing is for certain: there is no shortage of veterans and their families in dire need of assistance, not only here in Arizona, but all over the country.

Events like the StandDown undoubtedly change thousands of lives, but once per year just doesn’t provide enough support to those who struggle every day. We need stronger programs, accessible care, and more events like this one to bring the aid directly to those who need it most.
