15 Feb HonorBound joins U.S. Senator Chris Murphy’s Veteran Advisory Council
U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) invited Phil Kraft, Executive Director of HonorBound Foundation to be a founding member of the Veteran Advisory Council. The council will provide Senator Murphy with important feedback and advice on how to advance veteran’s causes that he can bring to the debate in Washington, D.C. The council met for the first time on January 26, 2018, in Hartford, and HonorBound was there.
Senator Murphy recognized that the team at HonorBound Foundation works tirelessly to help raise the standard of living for our veterans, and to address the various challenges veterans and their families face every day. Challenges to which all Americans can relate. He also recognizes, however, that there is much more work to be done.
By forming the Veteran Advisory Council, Senator Murphy hopes to better serve veterans in need. Comprised of a small and select group of community stakeholders, the Veteran Advisory Council will meet quarterly at Senator Murphy’s Hartford office to discuss new legislative proposals, the status of current veteran legislation, and creative ways our communities can work together on behalf of service members, veterans and their families.
HonorBound Foundation is eager to work with Senator Murphy to ensure that critical veteran issues remain at the forefront of legislative efforts in both Washington, D.C. and across the nation.
