10 Dec HOW YOUR SUPPORT SAVED LEIGH ANN AND HER CHILDREN
This happens all the time. Veterans give everything to serve our country and then come home only to struggle to keep a roof over their heads and buy food for their children. It’s what Leigh Ann went through.
A decorated Army veteran, Leigh Ann served in combat in Iraq with honor. She made her country and her family proud. But once she left the Army, everything went wrong.
“I could provide for my kids while I was in a combat zone,” she says, “but once I came home, I can no longer even take care of me, let alone anyone else.” As many veterans often find when they return home from active duty, Leigh Ann found it difficult to find a job. She finally did find some part-time work, but it wasn’t enough to support herself and her two kids.
Bills and rent went unpaid until the unthinkable happened. Leigh Ann and her children were going to be evicted from their
apartment. The indignity of it! Leigh Ann did the right thing for her country and was going to be tossed out onto the street.
Thankfully, you were there with your support to help. Because of your generosity, Leigh Ann received money to cover her overdue
rent, and she received a debit card for groceries and other essentials at a local Walmart. It meant the world to her.
“I want to thank you for all the wonderful things you have done for my family,” she says. “I appreciate you saving me, but mostly my family. My kids have endured so much from this deployment, and I want to thank you for them.”
Leigh Ann’s story tells you how much your support means and why it’s so important for all of us, together, to serve those who serve our country. Thank you for giving!
