Protecting your private information is our priority. Honor Bound Foundation, Inc. (HBF) is a Connecticut corporation and is a registered 501(c)(3) tax exempt entity. This Privacy Policy applies to general visitors to our website, www.honorboundfoundation.org, and governs data collection and usage. This policy applies to the veterans we serve, but we also collect additional information from our veteran grant recipients. By using the HBF website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Information Collected

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. HBF may collect personally identifiable information, such as your:

  • First and Last Name
  • E-mail Address
  • Phone Number
  • Messages or any other personal information from grant recipients

You may be required to provide additional personal information to us when you make donations through our website, including your billing address and credit card account information. HBF does not store or distribute credit card data on its own server(s). All confidential credit card data is processed by authorized third party processing systems using SSL protocol, as discussed below.

In addition, information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by HBF. This information can include: your IP address (the unique number assigned to every internet-connected device), browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is generally not used to identify you personally, but is aggregated and used to improve our website and our users’ experience. HonorBound does not collect cookies from site visitors.

Use of your Personal Information

HonorBound collects and uses your personal information to subscribe you to our email newsletter and collect your donations. We may also use your personal information in the following ways:

  • Record-keeping, reporting and data analysis
  • Communications with you (if you have opted into receiving communications from us) to send information about our work, our events and programs, and request donations
  • Sharing information with our vendors who help us design, maintain and operate our website and help us with our marketing
  • Sharing information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) comply with the law or legal process served on HBF or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of HBF; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of HBF, or the public.

HBF does not sell, rent or lease its data lists to third parties.

We may store your data on servers provided by third party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted. Children Under Thirteen

Our website is not intended or designed to attract children under the age of 13. HBF does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.

E-mail Communications

If you provide your email address to us, HBF may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. In order to improve our Services, we may receive a notification when you open an email from HBF or click on a link therein.

If you would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional communications via email from HBF, you may opt out of such communications by Clicking on the unsubscribe link included in each email marketing campaign.
